Work is carried out by a practitioner psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council under registration number [HCPC REGISTRATION NUMBER], who holds an enhanced DBS check and works to a written safeguarding policy. We are independent of any local authority or school. We don't prescribe medication, we don't provide psychiatric treatment, and we are not an emergency, crisis or out-of-hours service.

No one can promise that, and anyone who does should worry you. We assess properly and write what the evidence supports; the decision belongs to the local authority or the tribunal.
Those diagnoses are made by a multidisciplinary team, usually including a paediatrician or psychiatrist. We can assess, contribute and refer, and we'll explain who needs to be involved.
A person with parental responsibility, in writing, before any assessment. Young people are involved in the decision according to their age and understanding, and we explain things to the child too.
Yes. Practitioner psychologist titles are protected by law, and you can verify any psychologist on the HCPC register at hcpc-uk.org. Ask us for the registration number — and ask anyone you're considering.
It's special category health data and treated accordingly under UK GDPR: stored securely, shared only with consent or where safeguarding requires it, and retained in line with professional record-keeping standards.
